Myfanwy Van Vliet
Certified Practitioner -
Somatic Sex Education and
Sexological Bodywork
I want to support people in accessing more pleasure and aliveness in their bodies. Pleasure can be healing and empowering.
I am certified through the Institute for the Study of Somatic Sex Education and I am establishing my professional practice.
I offer a free 20-minute video discovery call to see if we are a good fit to work/explore/play together. Please click below or email me at IlluminatingPleasure@gmail.com to set this up.
Why Somatic Sex Education?
We could co-create a safe(enough) space to explore: consent and boundaries, identifying and asking for your desires, your yes/no/maybes, pleasure mapping, self-pleasure, re/learning your body/pleasure after or through major life situations (such as giving birth/parenting, health challenges, surgeries, relationship changes/endings, gender affirmation, disabilities).
Body acceptance, unlearning shame, and finding pleasure that feels right for YOU in your body.
Illuminating Pleasure: A Declaration
With a full heart and a trauma-informed lens, I support:
-
Shining a light on the potentially hidden pleasures of bodies and minds
-
Coming together of mind, body and spirit
-
Expanding pleasures and examining what may challenge pleasures
-
Exploring the wisdom of connecting with nature and animals
-
Working through, and playing in the darkness to help reveal pleasure that is already here
-
Finding the fullest expression of self
-
Knowing that ALL of you is welcome
My Commitments:
-
Maintain clear professional/ethical boundaries
-
Move at the speed of trust
-
Work collaboratively with other care supporters when needed and wanted
-
Bring my full self and my full presence to the work of illuminating pleasure
-
Resource my own personal embodied experiences of darkness and lightness
-
Continue on my own healing/wholing and pleasure journey
-
Practice awareness and accountability to my privilege as a white settler, cis-gender female, English-speaking, appearingly able-bodied, and otherwise privileged self.
-
Poly/ENM/kink-friendly
-
Endeavor to make my practice and offerings open and supportive for 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, disabled, low-income, and otherwise potentially disadvantaged folks.
-
Show loving-kindness, compassion, and acceptance for all human beings
I Believe:
-
All people deserve to feel safe (enough) in order for the possibility of pleasure to be illuminated
-
Play, curiosity, and the exploration of yes, no and maybe are all welcome and encouraged
-
People are not broken, though sometimes we all need a little support to find the light and pleasure within
